Default Audi 5000 cstq nf head

Hello everybody! So about 2 months ago I bought an 88 audi 5000 cstq avant. It's been very well taken care of by an older gentle man that provided receipts that go back 15 years. Although it's been cared for it does have 300k miles and needs some work. Sometime next week I will try to replace the drive shaft and diff fluids. Also my cylinder head is ticking, which is the main reason for this post. So I would like to do the nf swap and although I've found a ton of info on this most of it is years old. So I found an nf head at a local junkyard for 235 which is the cheapest I've been able to find. My plan is to rebuilt the head with new valves (which I can't find. If anyone has a site please let me know)new Apr studs and a AAN head gasket. I also know I have to adapt some ports to the head for proper cooling. I also plan to chip it in the future. If any one has any advice I would appreciate the input. This would be my first "project" any I'm really looking forward to it.

Ticking may not mean the cylinder head needs attention. If the ticking stops a few minutes after startup, then it is the lifters. Much easier job than a cylinder head R&R.

It's always ticking. I added some mystery oil in hopes that it would quite it down but it doesnt. I figured if I'm going to start replacing parts why not upgrade. As long as it's still reliable.
