I posted about a week and a half ago about leaking fluid coming from above the clutch pedal. Haven't been in the car for awhile, I've been busy with school and haven't been driving lately. Finally got to taking some pictures today and man am I glad I haven't been driving it around. Fluid is LOW and I think I found the problem, I'd like some help confirming.

You can see the drips coming off the hex nut and just above it. I think it's that gasket, I tried to get my fingers in above and around it and got no fluid on them, so I don't think it's coming from above.

Here's a photo of the reservoir, very low. Is it brake fluid or pentosin that should be used?

How much does replacing the clutch master cylinder suck? The part seemed pretty cheap... $60... but bleeding the entire system doesn't sound fun to me. Also, when I depress the clutch it is making a squeaking sound under the car when depressed that I have NEVER heard it make before, is that an effect of the low fluid?<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/v8/msgs/139539.phtml">Last Post</a></li></ul>

for leaks. If the hose is solid then your CM is leaking. It's awkward to get at, but not too bad to do. Had to replace the one on my old 5K while it was parked in the street. Good times.

One of the simpler Audi repair jobs as it's all right there by the pedal.

Audi recommends pressure bleeding. I bought the "cheap" Snap-On pressure bleeder &amp; VW/Audi brake reservoir cap for about $250 back in 1994 or so.

Apply pressure &amp; fluid to the brake system and loosen the bleeder nut on the slave cylinder on top of the tranny. Let about a 1/2 cup come out and it's sure to be bled properly.

I don't think I'll be using the bleeder for anything but this one job, so that might not make sense for me. I would do it in a heartbeat if it didn't require that tool . If it really requires shelling out that much for the bleeder valve and then the part on top of that, it might get passed on to the mechanic. Anyone in the PacNW with a bleeder tool willing to help out a poor college student?

You can get a motive power bleeder for under $50.
