Check to make sure the cruise control linkage has not jammed in there, the bushing fails and the rod jams in place- was subject to a recall at some point.
That linkage is under the airbox- removing the air filter housing is just 2 10mm nuts, and lube everything under there for good measure while checking.
PS: you can remove the idle stabizer and get at the throttle body in about 10 mins and 3 10mm nuts, and then 6 or so 6mm allen bolts. The TB can get crudded up and also stay stuck open. Lots of WD40 and oil can free up the linkages under it too.

I can't find a step-by-step guide to doing what is needed anywhere on the web, but I do see a lot about stuck throttles on the V8Q. How much dismantling will I be letting myself in for?
