Is the 10v engine in my 1991 80 an interference head?

Yes. Last non-interference 10v was 87 4kq

Default "Same" engine as what is in my old 5kq. I had a timing belt loose about 15 teeth

and not take out a darn thing in the engine. At higher RPM where valve-float can occur there is a far greater chance to have a valve kiss a piston. At idle, like what happened to mine, no (it was hit dead on the front of the engine by a Jeep Cherokee Classic while stopped at a red light).

... I snapped the timing belt in my 10v 1988 90q (while traveling at 70 mph) no smashed valves...

Default yea i was under the impression the 2v per cylinder (Audi/VW) were all non interference motors

16v & 20v are both krunch time

10v are non interference motors, the 20v are!!!

if you think about it, Audis 12v V6 is an interference motor, but the VWs 8v is not, VWs 16v is... it all depends on the motor
