AUDI 90 Engine swap HELP
Hello guys,
I own an Audi 90 B3 2300cc 1987yr. The 2300cc 5pot engine (NG) has broken conrods and in result it spitting oil back to the intake causing it to hesitate BADLY.
I got a great deal for a 2.8 V6 AAH engine from Audi A6/C4 for 200$ including legit papers! The AAH engine made its way up to 110,000KM, and was taken out due to the car being rear ended.
I need help wiring up the 2.8 V6 AAH, connecting it and generally will the tranny fit? I got the 2.8 Flywheel, clutch, but the original 2.3 non quattro tranny (012?).
Anyone has a wiring diagram I may use? I went to the scrapyard and bought the ENGINE wiring loom for 50$, only the engine part. I took it off myself, cut the one LONG blue wire and one yellow WRAPPED wire. Anyone knows where this goes?
Also there are like 3 connectors with bunch of blue wires on it.
I got the original ECU for free, even tho in the first place it was 250$.
Any help is APPRECIATED!
Cheers

I've never done that kind of swap and may not be much help.
I understand the crankshaft on the V6 engine with an automatic transmission has to have a piece removed if you are mating it to a manual transmission..so you may need to check the flywheel fitment.
I think..if you are mating the V6 engine (manual transmission model) to your non-quattro transmission, it should fit..test it first.
Here is a wiring diagram for a 1996 B4 Cabriolet...close enough for your 90 I hope.

You need the two wiring diagrams, and make a wiring chart so you can match functions with wires, relays, fuses, etc.
Also, picking a nit here, but the 2.3L engine is 2309cc, while the 2.8L is 2771cc.
Yes, there is a bushing in the flywheel end of the crank that may be in the way, however in engines like the 7A and NG paired with the 01A transmission, the pilot bearing is of the sealed ball type that rides in the flywheel rather than an unsealed needle/roller type of the earlier transmissions (the namely the 016).
