After recently looking through my electrics a bit I noticed I think why my fans engage at a certain temp but the stop soon after, before any real cooling occurs to the radiator. A few seconds at most.

Is my assumption that this delay relay times the fans duration and the cooling fan relay is for the actual fans. Just an assumption made on the name of the relay, I do not have complete schematics for the '94 Cab in Australia.

After reading the top of my fuse box under the bonnet I have noticed that the cooling fan delay relay may be missing.

Is it as simple as putting a correct generic relay in, I am not sure, But my question is what type of relay is it ?
Does it have a number the same as 214 or 213 where I could get another relay for this empty slot to the rear, right of the 214 - coolant fan relay.

The Cabriolets I've seen do not have the cooling fan relay in that vacant slot...typical Audi design change with little documentation it was moved to the relay panel under the left side kick panel.

Here in the USA the fan relay(s) are under the drivers side (left over here) kick panel..Audicabrio.info - Sicherungsplatz-, und Relaisbelegung

I THINK that relay #17 is second speed and #18 high speed fan relays..check to see if you have the same panel with relays in those slots.

The bosch relays have numbers on them like 214..but the important thing is the amps and pin locations..#30-#87-#86..and most relays are generic and you can use something else so long s it has the same amps and pins.

The amps and pins are usually identified on the side of the relay.
