I have disassembled my automatic transmission but need to find parts.
I wrote on this forum in early January that My transmission had burnt up. I decided to drop the transmission out and see if I could fix it before I called the junk yard and sold it for $50.
Well I got it all apart and it was not too difficult at all. I need some parts though. I have looked at bimmerparts.com and saw what they had but there are a few more things. I have not been to the dealer yet but I have doubts about them selling the parts I need. The thing is though that when you have your tranny rebuilt they get the parts from somewhere. I am going to call a place in Columbia, SC called Cadco and see if they can help. Does anyone have a good source they know for tranny parts?
What I am looking for still:
2 3-prong thrust washers
toothed thrust washer
needle bearing (forward most)
10 One-way clutch plastic segments
Reverse planetary ring gear hub
Thanks for any help!!
I have a 1990 Audi 80 3-speed automatic KAU or 89

Thanks for the link. I think what happened is the pinion seal went and all the ATF got pumped...

into the Differential housing. That would explain why there was no big leak but it was really low on fluid.
Cadco in Columbia actually were real helpful but this link is really good to. thanks. The dealership had all the parts but some were expensive and some were fair. The stealership want almost $400 for the Ring gear hub. Aaah! Only buy what you have to at the dealer is my motto.
