1994 Audi Cabriolet, cranks but won't start.
I have a '94 Audi Cabriolet that cranks but won't start out of the blue. I did a spark test / no spark. No power to coil, ignition coil module or the engine control module. any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Could be the ignition switch..could be the anti-theft system (factory or some aftermarket installed unit) Don't know what kind of OBC connections a 1994 had..but a scan of the computer would be handy to help.
See pages 17 and 36. This wiring diagram will get you started.http://12v.org/urs/1996_Audi_Cabriol...g_Diagrams.pdf

Are you sure the ECU isn't working?
Most likely culprits are the crankshaft, flywheel or cam sensors. Blinking out the codes will help diagnose.
You need to try to start the car (crank for a second or two) and WITHOUT turning the ignition off do the code blinking sequence. If you just try it out of the blue you'll get the crank sensor error every time.

Thanks for the info. How do i activate the code blinking sequence or does it happen on it's on?

I think the crank position sensor will come up as a fault when the engine will not start as a routine..even if it is working..could be wrong.
Primary suspect would be the cam position sensor.
I bought an Audi A6 C4 Avant with the 12v..the prior owner thought it had a bad "computer" and got two more ECUs off ebay..and the car still would not start.
He gave up and I got a new cam sensor from HansAuto for $16..installed it and the engine ran fine.
For $16 plus shipping it would be worth changing out just to be sure.078905161C $16 VW Audi Camshaft Position Sensor 80/90 100 A4 A6/S6 Cabriolet V6
