comon problem, you can try these Strut Mount, Early Small Chassis Audi, Density Line, B2/B3/B4 Audi 80/90/Coupe Quattro, S2/RS2, UrQuattro, 4000, Coupe GT - 034-601-1001 - 034Motorsport | Performance Parts for Audi, Porsche, and Volkswagen some people have experienced failure with them
or you might be able to find some solid mounts from europe

Priced Individually - Two Required Per Axle / Four Required Per Vehicle

does this mean i have to buy 4 for just the front end?

Default You only need two...and you need to compress the spring too

And the hat may be still too proud above the strut tower.

you only need 2. B3 uses the same mounts on front and rear, B4 only the front

TOday I replaced mine strut mount with radically different thing. My friend from Bulgaria did this for me and sent it overseas. It worked on around 150 other Audis like ours
Its catted soriginal bottom of spring disc with wilder VW Golf 4 spring disc on top, using another bolt spacer and VW golf Strut mount.
The car now handles and go incredibly well. As far as I know all of the people to do this have it with no issues at all.
I costed me just under $100 with shipping included and the result is worth it )

This is the original configuration. The upper sping disk on the Golf is 22m, and the original is 13. Because of that the sping plate fits deeper in the strut. (picture 4)

would this bushing would also cause the wheel to be offset? it rubs when turning i imagine because its not connected properly it causes it to off set the wheel with weight.
