Default I'm depressed. Does anyone else here share my paint pain?

I know there are more important things to be bummed about - like Iraq, our limited choices for president, and so on. But...as I posted a bit ago, my pearl paint is giving up the ghost and it's SO ironic, because ever since owing the car I've faithfully hand-washed (weekly or more)and waxed (6-8 times per year). My reward? A finish that's starting to look like a Delorean (to quote another AW member). I'm starting to see it disintigrate before my eyes. Should I repaint an otherwise great 13 year old car? Maybe I can get away with just doing the top surfaces. Any thoughts or similar pain?

Default I know how you feel. I have the same thing happening to a well cared for metallic green Mazda.

No matter what, after a while, the sun just gets to the paint. And, metallic or pearl type paint goes sooner than "plain" colors. It's still a nice looking car, except the paint it dying on the roof and trunk. I guess I can get a respray... but... like you, I'm stuck on whether to do it or not.

Default Ever thought to use a polish/glaze? That might help a bit.

The Meguiars 3 step usually has decent results.

Yeah, I've been experimenting with everything! Takes the curse off for a bit.

Misery loves company. And people tease me for always looking for shady parking!

Default Catch 22: if I park in the shade in my driveway I'm inevitably under a tree

so it gets showered with pollen, sap, and bird doo.
Which is worse?

You can wash off the crap - you can't wash off the Delorean markings!

Default I've been meaning to; No, it sits now outside my window in the same condition.

I've tried almost every treatment under the sun (well, not literally...in the shade...anyway...) to no avail. I brought back the shine but the 'scratches' are still there in direct light. In overcast weather and at night it looks great 'cause the scratches don't show up at all. If I do repaint it, it won't be a huge detriment to resalue value so I guess I'll continue to live with it. Ahh well.
