<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/76266/mycar1.jpg"></center><p>Have you tried Meguiars three step paint system,

1st step cleans the paint
2nd polishes it
3rd waxes it

You can do it with a normal orbital buffer (20 bucks at wallmart) or with a high speed buffer (nice and easy though dont want to remove the paint).....

My car used to have that pasty white look to it before I buffed it, must have brought five years back into the paint.

Default Well, how rich are you? I am fine with the "DeLorean Look" for now.

Paint is money. Money is usually something you acquire after you own a few of these type of cars (25 y/o and older) and can afford a new car but love the old one a whole lot. I am going to take a few things into consideration. It would be nice not need to bondo the heck out of the car when I decide to finally paint her.

Kids are smart. I had my two cousins and their friend watching me replace a rear spring on my 1990 Mazda RX7. One of my cousins asked "Your car is ugly why don't you make it look better?" I admit my RX7 is normally red and was rattle canned black and then later white by someone who was trying to just get the job done. But, I asked my cousin as I had my cars rear end jacked up, the A arm dangling and the strut taken out "What is better a car that runs good or a car that looks good." The friend replied "A car that runs good."

Hence, what is the point of a car that has a $20,000.00 pearlescent-metallic paint that looks like a million bucks that has squeaking breaks, Suspension riding the frame, bad oil in everything but the engine, tires showing threads, overheating issues, and a transmission louder than the engine?

It would be much easier to buy a brand new BR-Z than to repaint a car only worth a tenth of the paintjob.

This is also why not many cars that usually sell in the $1,500-$3,500 range have brand new fancy paint jobs. Owners that paint their cars usually intend to keep them for a very long time. So my advice is leave the paintjob the way it is until you are completely sure you will own the car for the rest of your life (or as long as you can still drive).
