Just picked up a 1995 Audi 90
So I just joined AudiWorld, but I have been over on VWVortex for years.
I've had a few VWs, and currently have a 2008 R32 track car. I just bought this Audi 90 to replace my Volvo 240 as a daily. I picked it up for really, really cheap and so far seems to be in pretty good shape.

I haven't 100% decided if I am just going to flip the car or not yet (that's how cheap I got it for), but did have a few questions:
Can you go from the manual control climate control to ACC fairly easily? The wood grain trim bezel around these controls is starting to peel back and the only replacement I can find on eBay is for an ACC unit. I know on my volkswagen the sensor for ACC is there for manual and ACC cars and just needs to be wired up, would it be something similar and maybe some VAG-COM coding?

Is that the one that went on the Bay for about $700?
The wood lamination might be repairable..Easy to remove the panel...I used some Wood Gorilla glue and some small "C" clamps. Filled the lamentations with wood glue and gently pressed the panel back together..being careful with the glue that oozed out while I pressed it. Let the clamps (harbor freight cheapo models) keep it snugged up overnight..worked well.
Nice car and enjoy!

And, yeah, a little under 700.
This is what I was planning on doing for the door panels, but since I saw this upgraded part on eBay, I was just wondering if it was as simple/do-able as it is on some of the other cars I have worked on.

I'm sure it is not a quick exchange..the Audi ACC has a vacuum controlled heater valve and motorized flaps in the air box..the standard Audi HVAC controls are all manual with control cables.
You would have to exchange the manual heater/AC box in the dash with an ACC unit, computer and wiring harness..I think
