I picked up 2 when they were on clearance. Installed one in the 95 Cabrio and later installed the other in the 96 Cabrio after I got it back from a friend.
The steering rack job is a pain in the butt, but I managed to swap it without touching the brake master or booster. The trick I found to make the job a little easier is to loosen the steering column inside the car and remove the piece at the end of the column from the rubber ring to the rack itself.

Mike..yep those steering racks were a deal on closeout..
Were the part number 8G1422065CX? The X indicates a rebuilt rack from VAG/ZF. When I opened the box the rack was a virgin 065C with no X..a brand new ZF steering rack.
The "C" Audi rack was suppose to be for 17" sport suspension (did Audi even offer 17" wheels in the 90's?)..my old rack is a "B"..I doubt it makes much difference
Were your parts numbers the same?

I honestly don't remember what part number I received or if it had the "X" on it.
I do remember looking at them and thinking they look brand new. Both cars are currently parked in my driveway and I can take a look at the P/N when I get back to Tucson.
I am in Miami for the week for work.

I have a set of inner tail lights that I could part with.
All the trunks are indeed the same. your best bet may be a pull and pay junkyard. Cabriolets come into mine somewhat frequently. I think I pitched a rear bumper not long ago. Let me check behind my shed when the snow melts and see if I put it there instead of junking it.
Message me through here if you are interested in the tail lights.

How much do you want for the taillights? I did not buy the car in Salt Lake City for parts, since shipping the car was about the same amount as the whole car. I ordered the driver side inner taillight on ebay, but it does not fit my 1994 cabriolet. It was listed as fitting 1992-1998 Audi Cabriolet B4, but it is not the same width, and the bolt pattern is different. Do you know the difference? I have to contact the seller. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer. How much were you looking at selling the car for? I live right off the I-17, near Sedona.

I would be willing to let it go for around $2000 to an enthusiast.
Will probably throw it up on Craigslist for $2500 OBO. The car runs great and just passed AZ emissions last month. Unlike most of these cars you find for sale, it has a good transmission (better than most since it is a 5-Speed manual), the hydraulic top works, none of the window regulators are broken, and the rear window is clear.
