Completely Intrigued
You can see the big welcome poster I stumbled across flying into Paris, France last week for a pleasure trip in the picture below. Needless to say I never expected to see them driving around, but they sure did turn my head. Like a little Fiat..but an Audi, and therefore much better. Unfortunately never got my hands on one to take for a spin, but they sure look great.

Got one..
Picked up an A1 1.4 TFSI - 122hp version - with Stronic in SLine trim last week - 10 months old in Amalfi white.
I've actually bought it as an interim car having exited the company car scheme and a disastrous experience with a Range Rover Evoque (8 weeks in the dealer in the 1st 6 months). I rejected the car, sent back to Land Rover. I will factory order a 3.0TDI Q5 with toys now.
Back to the A1 - it is amazing fun to drive and decently quick too - the kind of car that makes you grin even though you aren't driving that quickly. As luck would have it a business trip to Norwich (eastern side of the UK) meant I did a 500 mile round trip in the three days after I picked it up. It is surprisingly comfortable and scoots around corners and the twisty bits with real character attached. Being so small and low down - every other automobile looks huge!
Sline suspension usually means brutally hard - well it isn't, firm yes, hard no. It is a petrol (gasoline) engine and returned a fuel economy of 43.5mpg (imp gallons)actual - calculated backwards. Unlike all the Audi's I've ever owned the average fuel consumption shown in the DIS is accurate.
Mine doesn't have the Sat Nav option - the SD card slot is there and the button - but apparently I need a Connectivity pack which is factory-fit for it to work. The Garmin portable will have to do instead. The standard audio is surprisingly good and I love the way the dash display picks up the album art and displays it adjacent to the MP3 track (source is a 32GB SDHC card).
