Default 2015 S3 mpg report

Finished the second tank of gas, have 589 miles on the car and this tank got 20.9 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. 40% city/ 60% highway.

Meh, hope it gets better.

I got 21mpg on my first tank which included test drive miles and a 140 miles of straight highway driving. Average miles per hour (MPH) was 25.
Second tank is averaging 25mpg so far. Average MPH is 48. So more like 60% highway and 40% city.

I got 26mpg at around 700 miles on the car after a 50 mile drive in comfort mode while deliberately not punching the throttle. Then I did the some math. 12,000 miles per year/22mpg = 545 gallons of fuel for the S3 vs 12,000miles per year/28mpg= 429 gallons of fuel. Call the difference between what I used to get and what I can get in the s3 (so far) while still having fun the throttle, 117 gallons of fuel per year x $4 a gallon = $468 a year, or an extra $39/month. Others experience may be different I guess.

Just edited my math. Should've used a calculator the first time.

The difference between the Prius and the S3 is 20mpg... it's worth every penny.

I secretly hope for better mileage, but I think it's its well worth it.

My 2011 A4 MT6 is rated at 21/31. According to EPA mileage figures the S3 is rated at 23/31. I am hoping to do at least as well as the A4.

Although getting good gas mileage is always great, how many of us here ordered/purchased an S3 with mileage as a priority? I know it will be decent and I know if I go easier on the throttle I'll visit the pump less often but I certainly wasn't thinking of mileage when I decided on this awesome car. Just my 2 cents.

I'll admit it, the gas mileage played a factor, I was considering an S4 and an A6 3.0 as well as an S3.

Agreed. And my commute is 59 miles each way. The additional fun is well worth the fuel!
