Default Got it - my S3 miracle - sorta

So I was going to wait till my S3 order came in in November, but my beloved '01 A4 was limping, so I drove to dealership intent on buying an A3 with a sport package (then maybe chip it later).

BUT, they lost a buyer for their factory S3 (the ones with the Daytona 1 Package), sweet.

BUT, my ordered S3 had B&O and black seats (gleefully without the red random seat patches, which I deeply dislike).

So I had to weigh it out, get the car right now (and not in Nov), but not all the options I wanted.

Then I drove it…

WHO CARES ABOUT ANYTHING BUT THE engine, handling and DSG… HOOOOLLLYY CRRRAAAPPP!

Signed immediately and drove it home.

Love it… pics soon.

For those that are wondering what the Daytona 1 Package is, its a mix of some of the individual options, and apparently doesn't exist in the regular world.

Daytona Grey Paint (duh)
LED headlights
19" Wheels
Magnetic Ride
Red Brake Calipers

(Total $3500 for the package)

HUGE CONGRATS. Can't wait for updates. I was genuinely excited by this car and can't imagine what she's gonna be like when you break her in. Also, was impressed with sticker mileage, and wonder what that will be like as well

I drove one recently at my local dealership. Daytona 1 Package isn't listed anywhere in the order guides either *evil grin* Basically its' 19" sport package (19s, Mag ride), LEDs (Prestige only!), Daytona Grey (NOT OFFERED 2015 FOR A3/S3 OTHERWISE), & red brake calipers (€350 upgrade in Germany, not offered USA, and a MUST IMHO).

LED lights are incredible and truly make this car magical. Weight is magical. Space is magical. I'm 5'11 ~195 and I fit JUST SO in the backseat. It literally is just right, head has just enough room, legs just enough room, when I'm behind "myself" in the driver seat. Anyone bigger than me I don't think will be comfortable.

BTW -- DO BACKSEATS FOLD DOWN??? I THINK THEY MIGHT BE FIXED :-/

Mega ultra bonus brownie points if you upload the pages from the manual detailing the ACC system and its' limitations. It seems to be much more advanced than the one offered in the current A4 A6 or A7.

YOU ROCK. ENJOY THE CAR!!!

Agreed 1000%... The Brake calipers are the weakest S3 aesthetic IMO. And coming from an Mitsubishi EVO that had finished, painted Brembo calipers, I'm just not satisfied with the look of the S3's calipers. Even painted the calipers don't appear to be anything special, just regular calipers with a S3 badge plate on them. They'll stop you good for sure, I just wished they looked better doing so.

Default Magnetic Ride

First, congratulations. Enjoy.

Glad to hear that Drive Select does in fact adjust Magnetic Ride. Would you say that Magnetic Ride in Comfort mode is a softer ride than standard A3/S3 Sport Suspension?

Hurray up with the pictures, outside and inside!

Default Pics!

So after the MONTHS of looking at this car virtually, there were a few things I wanted more pictorial detail on/of… Calipers, Outside Mirror finish and the LED headlamp… viola!

Other topics addressed:

- YES, the rear seats have a 60-40 split
- Mag Suspension - I'm driving in Comfort for a while to get a solid feel, I'll switch to Dynamic on my compute tomorrow, lots of twisties
- ACC, how can I resist super-ultra mega points? (Assuming that you mean Adaptive CC and not Automatic Climate Control
Here is the link that pops-up when I insert my Tech Info USB Key to my computer:

- I was told the Daytona Package was a special for Dealer Demo's (Mine had 68 miles on it)
- ARRGG, no HomeLink©, all my audis ever had it, didn't even think of it till I got home.

More pics to come as I take a coastal drive tomorrow!

Congrats on your new ride! Still waiting on my S3 to arrive. None in central Ohio that I'm aware. I could be the first. Will still be about 3 weeks. Email stated the car was on it's way to port in Germany. Assume Bremerhaven. Got the Prestige with 19 inch package in Mythos Black. My first Audi since my 1985 Coupe GT Quattro when I was stationed in Germany. Congratulations again on your new car!
