Car & Driver had it doing 108.5 mph and 12.9 on the 1/4 mile!
Euro spec stronger than US?

That's a good question...hopefully someone with knowledge about the Euro spec car can chime in?

I found a couple of threads at various VW/Audi forums stating that the S3 Euro spec. engines have both direct and multi-port fuel injection while the U. S. spec. engines will have only direct injection. This results in less power in the U.S. engines. According to what I read, it has to do with emissions standards.

It has to do with the US being a "hot climate" Aussies get the same 292 hp engine, from what I understand, its the same engine, just turned(tuned) down to 9.5 instead of up to 10!

So it's not quite as fast but still pretty darn quick!

I found some of the comments upsetting and unreasonable. You can't please some people and if you put it out there, they react.

I too have an S3 on order and I am so looking forward to it. I had a 1999 A4 1.8T Q for 12 years and the new S3 is the size that I wanted in 2011 when I purchased my second A4. Can't wait.

I wonder how you would "turn" it back up?
