S3 Test Drive
Took a brief but semi spirited test drive in new S3 at Audi of Cary NC that they received on Tuesday. It was a Premium Plus with most of the options including magnetic suspension, Monsoon Gray paint and Magma Red seats . It had a sticker price of $49K and change. Sorry I didn't take any photos of the sticker or the car. Salesman stated all Audi dealers would be receiving this same exact car initially.
I put all the settings on dynamic for the test drive(Comfort, Auto or Dynamic were the choices). They were limiting miles for test drives as they planned on selling this particular car and not keeping it as a long term demo.
Coming from a 430hp corvette I was impressed with it's get up and go. Compared to the FWD A3 I previously test drove the suspension was much tighter and it did not exhibit any bone jarring over any rough pavement. It was much more exhilarating to drive compared to my 2006 A3 3.2 Quattro Sline DSG with sport suspension or 2002 A4 1.8t Quattro sport suspension 5spd man with Apr Chip.

So what happened to the beautiful diamond stitched interior we've seen from the start? It on the Audi Site and in their catalogue.

AoA had some delays getting them cleared for use in the U.S. They'll be available early in '15.
