Default Siri and A3/S3 not working

So I can't get Siri to work with the MMI in the S3. It works fine in my Q7 (2014).

I don't have any problems with regular calls through my iPhone, when I instigate Siri, there is no audio input until I make an actual call, like the audio input doesn't work for siri.

Any tips? Anyone else have issues?

Default Same here

Just bought 2015 A3 TDI Prestige and have the same issue. Siri doesn't work at all when in the car. Can make calls and listen to messages but that's it. Unacceptable.

Does Siri work when Bluetooth audio streaming is active?

Same issue here. Also can't use speech input on email while phone is linked to the car.

I'm picking up my S3 this week (hopefully), and I'm interested to see if it's the same behavior with Cortana on Windows Phone. My experience has been the Bluetooth functionality is a step below for Win Phone compared to iEverything so I'm not overly optimistic.

Confirmed with Cortana, also no dice.

I did a second test today, where I unplugged it from the Audi connect cable and only had it connected through Bluetooth and still no dice with Siri.

Crap!

I hate not being able to text message by using my voice, it's killing me.

Correction! I found a setting on my phone to use a legacy mode for Cortana that did the trick. I can't activate it from the car but at least now I can speak-to-text and leverage some of the other functions.

Sadly I haven't seen a similar setting on the iPhone, even with iOS 8... I will pair my wife's iPhone 5 and give it a try.

Interesting.

What frustrates me the most is that it works fine with my '14 Q7. Grrrrr.

I'll be doing some testing tonight and see if I can figure something out.
