- Audi A3 How to Cut Down on Brake Dust<br>Step by step instructions for do-it-yourself repairs.
IS IT TOO SOON TO START AN S3 BRAKE PAD THREAD?
#12
I'm just confirming, I've got about 500 miles on my car now, and the brake dust is insane, even on the 19" grey wheels, the brake dust is sort of grey/brown color that just looks lame Guess I need to wipe them down every few days. I'm actually hoping these will wear down quick so I can get something a little cleaner.

We now have a choice for our S3's!!! Has anyone had experience with this brand & model of ceramic pads?

I used Centric Pads I got from Zeckhausen on my RS4 and Q5. As have a few others. Only difference (besides way less dust) is that initial bite is not quite as good as OEM.

Excellent find m3brad! Much appreciated. I kept hoping Hawk would make some pads for the S3 but it seems they take some time to catch up to newer models. Really loved Hawk ceramics on my last car. Reggie; appreciate the vote of confidence for the Centric pads as well. Will have to try to read more about them but the dust is a bit ridiculous. Maybe keep the OEM pads for race day. :-)

Just an update on the brake pads. Installed them w/o any issues and I've driven about 200 street miles since. I cannot tell a difference in feel or bite vs. OEM's and now my wheels look like the day I took delivery of my S3, even after driving 200 miles!!
IMO, the best initial upgrade you can make in your street-driven Audi 😁

Never done brakes on an Audi; any quick tips I should be aware of before going in?

I'm hopeful by the time my track season starts up in the Spring, I'll have a few track pad choices. I would be inclined to use the OEM pads if it came down to it.
In regards to the install, no special tools needed. There has to be someone out there that has "tubed" it!

m3brad; to understand correctly, you only did the front calipers at this time? I ask because I have never worked with electronic parking brakes before and I was watching some YouTube videos of changing pads on other Audis with EPBs. Not as simple as standard mechanic parking brakes.
I will definitely be ordering new pads soon however.
