Default 2015 A3-First Mod

Hi All,

New to the forum coming over from a 2006 BMW e90 (330i). It was time for a change and wanted to try something different being a long-time BMW owner (even before the e90). Originally was thinking going the A4 route but came upon a 2015 A3 Prestige S-line, with additional goodies, like sport package and convenience package. Car was owned by an Audi exec and had only 1000 miles when I got it in December. Overall very impressed with the car and the features, especially the quattro, and the MMI functionality. I do have to say however, that even my 2006 BMW was "ahead of it's time" compared to the A3. One is the HomeLink feature (extensively discussed in the forums). I also liked that my BMW had a light on the automatic wiper stalk to let me know that the auto sensing feature was on. The A3 stalk is just position based. Overall though, I am happy with my decision. As many of you, I have also had the mod bug and just did my first....see the pictures. My wife thinks I'm crazy but it's the little things that make me enjoy this car a little more.

Docman MD-got it from ebay. Just search Steering wheel Sticker For Audi S line. It came from China....less than $5 with shipping. Came in about 3 weeks. I think it helps to fill the black space on the wheel.

...being a long-time BMW owner (even before the e90)
I found that kind of funny.

Cool :-) A nice little mod for S-Line equipped models like my prestige cabriolet. Not sure if I'm going to put one on my steering wheel, but ordered one anyway. Will see what I think when it arrives. I like mods myself, and tend to stick with subtle or purely functional ones like the SmartTop module I installed. I like the one-touch operation best of all, but the remote and keyless entry button operation are fun/handy too at times.

DON'T buy this item from eBay. I ordered one, and it arrived a few days ago covered with scratches, had no protective film on it, and the red printing was offset to the bottom. Also, instead of proper adhesive on the back it had a thick, double-sided foam adhesive pad, making it twice as thick. Clearly a cheap counterfeit badge. It was well-packed, and so clearly shipped in this condition. Aside from the poor quality, the scratched up face made it certain this was not going anywhere near my new $50,000 automobile. When I informed the seller, I was advised to return it--TO CHINA! That would have cost more than I spent on the item plus shipping, so I filed a complaint with eBay and we'll see where that goes. I could care less about the five bucks, it's the principle here.

THE GOOD NEWS: At the same time as I ordered this from eBay, I also ordered one from Amazon.com and it arrived today in perfect condition. Red printing inside the square where it should be, and proper adhesive on the back. Much better packaging, plus a little bonus caribiner for your keychain or whatnot. Moral of the story: For the same money, you get a much better product from the Amazon seller, and the price was the same--right round the five dollar mark, shipped.

Here are a couple of snapshots of the new S-Line badge on the steering wheel...
