2015 Audi S3 EPC light-loss of power
#21
Had this happen to me twice now, happened randomly on the highway. I shut the car off and turned it back on again and it went away. The car was misfiring, not exactly sure what it was. Never exactly determined the cause, but it sounds like others have. Which dealer did you bring it to? I also am in North Jersey

I am taking the car to Princeton Audi tomorrow. Where did you purchase your S3?
Did you ever take the car to the dealer to run diagnostics? I wonder if the computer stored the mishap in the ECU and if it's gonna be visible to the dealer.

I did. It was stored (I work for Audi Meadowlands) so I had them look at it. They said if it happened again to bring it in, it happened to me just the other night so I haven't gotten it looked at again yet. Wish I could be more help lol

I had the same problem with my GTI. Its the ignition coil. I am surprised its done when the car is so new. My advice is to change all 4 and not just the one that died. I had 1 go out on me. switched one and after 2 months another one died. best to switch them out.

Left the car at the dealership on Wednesday. Initial diagnostics showed the car had misfired on cylinders one and four. Upon checking the ignition coils and other parts, nothing wrong can be found with the car. Dealer is saying that since the car is so new, Audi of America does not want to release the car as of yet and wants the dealer to run every conceivable test. Service advisor is saying that the tests are complicated and take long time. The Audi technicians await directions from AOA as how to proceed. That means a weekend without my S3. I didn't think it was that complicated and thought that Audi technicians would be able to figure things out on their own. I guess I was wrong.

I had the EPC light on my 2010 GTI, The dealer ended up replacing the intake manifold under warranty. This happened about 2 months ago and the car has been fine ever since.... Just figured I would let you know, of course I am not sure what is wrong with yours.

Dealer not ready to release my S3 yet, still running some tests. Definitely not the experience I was expecting with a new car. This is the 4th day they're running tests. Does it really take this long to run diagnostics? Anyone with experience on this subject?
