Default 2016 A3 Quattro Magnaflow Exhaust installed

Thanks to Carl from Clearmounts I now have a Magnaflow exhaust. I just installed it in my driveway and I think it took me entirely like an hour to install. Was very easy for me although I am a mechanic by nature.

I found the sound to be very mellow and deep but not anywhere near as loud as I expected it to be. With any music playing on the radio and windows up I can't even hear the exhaust.

You can also see the mounts for the Curt class 1 trailer hitch I installed as well. I believe the Curt part number was 113992 if I remember correctly. The part number ended in a "2" for the 2" ball mount in my case.

L8R,
Sterling

Short clip so you can hear what it sounds like from inside the car with the sunscreen cracked open.

Wow cool! I can't believe you installed it yourself. It should get louder as you break it in. Btw was that my Clearmounts holding your phone? If so please post a review! I'm happy the exhaust worked out!

I am a mechanic by nature. The exhaust was a very easy install. The stock clamp joining the two pipes was plenty long enough to cover the gap as well. Now I look forward to ordering the down pipe and possibly the bigger turbo and installing them after my deployment.

I have a Magnaflow on my 2014 VW GLI (Ordered a 2017 S3) which has the same engine.

My thoughts, great sound but not too loud with spirited driving and using manual mode on. Has a bit of drone if left in auto transmission mode, especially in 4/5/ gears around town and at constant highway speeds. It gets louder as the miles pile on.
