Also I'm not sure what you mean by paying for stuff as you go. The service book says change plugs and Trans fluid at certain intervals. Why would you go over or under?

Its that a few of us are saying we will/want to change our own oil so we have to deduct that off the price of the Audi Care. Then, what will the spark plugs/Trans Fluid changes then cost? That is what determines if its a value for those of us that want to change our own oil.

I think we agree. After the 5000 mile service, I plan to change my own oil, replace my own wiper blades, cabin filters, and inspect the car according to the schedule. Oil changes will cost me no more than $50. Wiper blades? $20. Cabin filter? IDK yet. But surely less than the dealer wants for it.

It is your choice of course and I'm not faulting you for it.

I'm just saying that I will keep my $900 now and pay as I go when I need to for spark plugs and DSG service.
I ended up buying the Audi Care for my A3 just before the 15k was due. I was on the fence a little, but the convenience and piece of mind were the deciding factors. But, my understanding is that it DOES NOT include DSG service, "unless required"(?). That kind of concerns me as I thought I recall some horror stories about DSG replacements being common. I also thought tire rotations were included, but apparently that's only for the first 5k service.

Pretty much the same reason for me and my S3. Also, we are making a 1000 mile move this upcoming summer and I don't really want to go through the process of being new in an area and having to establish that relationship. My dealer gave me a very good deal on the Audi Care - $150 off the MSRP. I just want to drive it in and drive it out. I'm not really concerned about the DSG with the car under warranty. If things are going well in 3-4 years I would like to sell the car and move up to an S5.

You can change your own oil with an Oil extractor. I've already done it. And the oil isn't pumped out. it's sucked out.

That's my plan as well. Dealer charges $145 for an oil change. That's ridiculous! The cabin filter is $19.37. This is my 4th turbo car. I used synthetic oil in all of them. I just changed the oil regularly according to the manufacturer. No problems with any of them. Buick Grand National, Subaru WRX STI, and Mini Cooper.
