Would be nice if anyone had the specs on the vehicle lte modem. Which LTE and other bands it supports. Would give us more info on exactly which sim/providers will work. Wonder if it's locked to AT&T.

It's not. T-Mobile and other GSM SIMs are plug and play.

Also, you said that this does in fact work int he A3, correct?
Pre-paid for 512MB/month for $5/month. Taxes and all fees included. Auto refill too.

And I confirm this works in my 2015 A3.

No brainer going this method once the free demo runs out. Thanks! Just wish the modem in the car supported CDMA, I have a few unlimited LTE sims.

If the data use is so low, why not just get the free data from T-mobile?

Unlocked Tablets | Tablets with Free Mobile Internet Data | BYOD | T-Mobile

If you buy a t-mobile sim and activate it for 1 month on a tablet, you get 200mb of free LTE data for life every month even without an account.

As far as I know, they will check the IMEI after you used on a new device. It's free for that month, but after that your free data is gone, and you have to call T Mobile to reactivate again on Tablet.

It doesn't work that nicely ...

What cell service do you use? I understand that AT&T and T Mobile are the only ones? Verizon wont work?

You need to log in to your Google account then go HERE to tie your car to it. Then when you're looking at a destination in google maps, you should see a "Send to Car" link (full instructions here). When you add your Audi to your google account, the ID is a name you set in my.audiusa.com. You need to log into your my.audiusa.com account and go to Services then "Dest from Google Maps", and set the username to tie to your car.

If you want to send-to-car from your phone, you can use an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...endtocar&hl=en after following the instructions above (there is a similar one for iPhone). I just found it, so I haven't tried it yet.
