Default Audi S3 exhaust note

I haven't been able to get a true feel of how my S3 sounds from outside the car or how it sounds to passerby's. Do folks outside of the car hear the same aggressive exhaust note we hear on the inside while driving this fantastic beast of a vehicle?

I don't think so. i think the sound inside the car is enhanced and I think the sound outside the car is more of a winding sound than a deep exhaust note; however, I'm just guessing.

I think the inside sounds great but I will never get use to the little farts when it shifts! I just don't like it.

Here is a video. At around 1:08 there are a few acceleration runs.
Sounds pretty good from outside.

I like the rev matching throttle blips between shifts.

Nice video but I'm sure it would sound different from farther away. The camera is mounted right next to the exhaust.

I just like the sound of the traditional V8 mustangs. They sound mean!

A 4 cylinder turbocharged engine will never sound like a normally aspirated V8.

Of all the A3's only the RS3 will sound like a beast.

Based on the one time a fellow S3 owner has driven past me while I was walking down the street (last weekend), I think the answer is yes, at least when the throttle is open far enough to open the valves in the exhaust. It sounded pretty mean! I was glad that it sounds as good from the outside as from the inside.

Good to hear. Funny I have never been outside of a S3 yet, only inside.
