Brake Dust is out of control!
Hey All, 2015 S3 with 800 miles (first Audi) Is it just me or do the factory pads make massive amounts of dust? I'm pretty good on brakes so I don't think its me or my driving style. In less than a week after a wash my front wheels are BROWN. I only drive 10 miles a day on average so its not like a week is really that much actual driving time.
Is this common with Audi's? Am I just over reacting? Regardless its bugging me enough that I've thought about changing out the pads to something "low dust".
End of rant.

You might want to try Armor All's brake dust product. It works pretty well. $7 at W*mart.
I think changing pads is the real solution assuming you can find something available for the S3.

I have read on the forums that Audis brake pads are soft and produce allot of dust.
Some have swapped them out for ceramic pads.
I also highly recommend getting your wheels coated with Opti Coat Pro (if not the whole car) because the break dust wipes right off.

IMO, the factory pads suck!!!! Average performance and toxic brake dust to the finish of your wheels. There are a few choices out there now and I went with the ceramics from Tirerack. After installing, there is virtually NO dust.

For now, my wheels just have their own wash mop.

I agree on the OEM pads. Was going to order ceramic replacements from Tire Rack but they rears were never in stock. Need to check again. Did the same to my last car. Made a huge difference.

I've never tried ceramic brake pads. How do they feel (when braking) compared to the stock pads?
To me it seems they would have less bite with equal pedal pressure as compared to stock.
My wife's S3 is built and awaiting transport and I may try ceramic pads if there is less dust. On my C63 the stock pads really give of allot of dust. I'd like to try something different there too.
