Default Delayed upshift

My S3 has delayed up shifts when the ambient temperature goes above 100F. The higher the temperature the higher the rpm for a shift to occur. At 115F it occurs at 3500 rpm. While this is lts of fun it uses extra fuel. Anybody else have this problem? My wife's A3 works OK at 115F. We live in the Phoenix AZ area.

I was going down a 4000 ft grade in the Cal desert a week ago and using tranny in S to slow down S3. I had to slow down to 30 mph in some sharp turns/switchbacks. RPM run from 2500 to 3500 for close to 15 minutes. Temperature was over 110 F.
At the bottom tranny wouldn't shift to D from S. Next morning after cooling down tranny was operating normally. May be problem is the heat. Does the tranny working normal when it is cool?

Delayed response like the hot day delayed up shifts.
Below 100F ambient works OK both in D and S
