Default Force gauge/screen on the S3 2017 virtual cockpit ?

Hi experts,
I am from Montreal, Canada. I am new to the forum. I have been reading for months and months. Now I have ordered my S3 2017 and it's getting on the boat this January 16th.
I took:
  • Daytona Gray pearl effect
  • Advanced handling package
  • Technology package
  • Magma Red seats and trim
  • Red brake gallopers
  • I even took the red vents of the coming RS3
Can't wait.

I had a quick question though. Is there a force screen or panel in the S3. I have a friend who has a 2016 GTI. They do get it. I was wondering if we could enable this panel if it's not there.

The RS3 also get two radial percentage panels to display boost. Can we activate this with OBD ?

Thanks in advance

Congrats on your car. Daytona Gray is a spectacular color.

I don't know of a g-force display on the S3, but I haven't looked too hard either. There is a boost display, at least on the Virtual Cockpit.

I'm in the US so it's possible that Canada gets different features than the US, so keep that in mind.

I don't believe there is any sort of g force display, at least not that I've found so far on my 2017 S3. As noted above there is a boost gauge that is displayed on the virtual cockpit screen.

Nope - no G-Force meter on S3.

Slightly different question though: can the MMI display tire pressures?

The 2017 S3 with Virtual Cockpit does have the G-Force meter, it just needs to be enabled via VCDS/VAG-COM or a similar tool.

This worked for me in VCDS:

17 - Instruments
Coding > Long Coding Helper > Byte 10
Enable bit 2 Display 'Acceleration'

Hope that helps.

Does the G-Force meter on the S3 actually operate properly beyond just being displayed on the Virtual Cockpit?

And having no experience with VCDS, does manipulating it have any warranty implications? Will dealers perform this type of work if requested?

why are the values different for each direction? are those max values? are those stored values based on a recent drive? how does it work?

Are there any other hidden gauges in the cluster? Perhaps the one the RS3 has in the UK?

That's just cause the car was off. Once started they all go to zero.

Numbers change to current g value and the center white circle moves around.
