FWD S3
As the title implies, my S3 is now FWD. I have no lights on the dash, and the engine is completely stock, but rolling into power in first it has started to give me wheelspin and a little hop. So this morning I tried out the launch mode. It is now FWD burnout mode and the car goes absolutely nowhere. 25k miles. Anyone else heard of AWD failures on these cars?? I will have to call the dealer of course.

Sorry, we're not helping, I personally have no idea - sounds software related - although this did happen to me in my 2001 A4 Q - the CV joint was sliding.
Any resolution yet?

I have read a few stories like this, the dealership will most likely say nothing is wrong, but you'll have to get them to replace the read haldex system. Someone had their transmission replaced along with the rear haldex... but I think that was more because the service people didn't know what to look for.

I was driving a TDI A3 loaner until today as I awaited my 2.0T to be repaired for door ding and 25K service.
Didn't experience any wheel spin riding in the rain today as I was returning it.
That 2.0 TDI engine is no match to the current 2.0TFSI, way too turbo laggy. But for FWD it actually took corners pretty damn well, better than 2.0T which always given me an unnerveness.

The haldex clutch pack has its own oil, separate from the diff oil. It is a 3yr service item regardless of mileage. The pump retails for $291 (dealer). It might be a good idea to maintain that item.
