I got the Prestige package for my S3. Definitely has the auto dimming rearview. It should be standard with the base model however. Was hoping for a homelink like feature however but can live without it.

On Audi USA | This is Truth in Engineering. it seems like the inside rear view mirror has the automatic dimming feature as standard on Premium Plus and Prestige S3. I know this is a change from the original feature as it was not standard on the Premium Plus model.

The question is my car went into production 2 weeks ago, will it have the auto dimming mirror?

Has anyone actually added one to their cars yet? I want to and would even pay to have it installed.

Is it possible to source and retrofit the OEM auto dimming mirror?

I assume that means homelink uses power from the auto dimming mirror? So how does one order that? Is that the internal Audi parts site?

Cool. Put part number in ECS and got this item. Described as a FIT.SET 8V40632116PS - FIT.SET - ES#2796421

Who will try a retrofit first?

It is the Audi dealer parts catalog. If you look on the NA Audi site you will see that home link is now a port installed option. I googled the part number hoping to find a picture and found this article.

So if you don't have the auto dimming mirror you're SOL or can that be added to? Please excuse the ignorance if this was already stated but I don't remember reading that portion.

I want this. Someone else please go first and let me know!

Audi's own parts page says it's discontinued which can't be true given it is a new port installed option.
