Got a little too carried away with launch control.. transmission overheating warning
Here in Canada, like everywhere else right now, it's very very warm. I think with humidity tonight it was about 35 celsius. That said, I tried launch control for the first time tonight and my oh my, I was surprised and exhilarated. It was a blast! I HAD to do it again, so I did.. wow! Drove a little more but then I decided I would do it ONE more time.. at about 80km/h the transmission overheat warning popped up so I took my foot off the gas, put the vehicle back into comfort mode and drove conservatively the rest of the night.
Anyways.. I'm assuming my vehicle is fine? I'm one of those overly worried types.. just don't want to hurt my baby.

Your vehicle will be fine if you drove 'normally' after the warning. All allot of new cars do this, my C63 included.
In the future you may want to watch your transmission temperature on the Lap Timer screen of your center display. You'll have advance notice that it's heating up.
Or use a phone app to trend transmission temp against ambient. With enough data you can predict how many launches you can do at current ambient temps and transmission temp prior to the launch.

I got the APR DSG tune and they did not include raising or removing the limiter as a feature. When asked about it, they claimed there was none on this transmission.
