GREAT question… this car seems to draw the 5-0 like 'fat to a mother-in-law' (Steve Martin).

Been pulled over 3 times in 5 months, 1 ticket (68 mph in a 55), that's some GREAT law enforcement work IMO.

WOah, I haven't been pulled over yet. I just got myself an Escort Passport 9500Ix to save myself from the same "GREAT law enforcement"

how do you talk yourself out of a ticket the other 2 times? Just curious!

Second time I was pulled over was because the Officer thought the car might be stolen (It didn't have plates yet), second time got off with a warning, I think the Officer was surprised that I wasn't a rich, silicon valley 22 year-old. His first question was, 'How old are you?' (I'm in my 40s) He let me go with a warning on a possible speeding ticket, again I was going under 65 in 55 zone.

(Sorry I accidentally Hijacked your thread Indigo.)

Default Not yet

For now I just routed the wire down the inside of the pillar - through the glove box and into the 12v socket in front of the cup holders. Not perfect but it will do until I can figure out how to do it properly. The existing examples i have found won't work for the new S3.

I'd also like to hear from someone in an MBQ that has done this. Would love to get my stealthy little SmartRadar hardwired into the fusebox, as I avoid mirror taps like the plague.

Mirror Taps have always worked good for me. That is the ones that just squeeze in and share the space with the original wire. I never used one that actually had to tap into the wire.

I could not find an unused slot in the fusebox, which was very frustrating. Ultimately I did like whitby and am powering it from the 12v socket. Its a good compromise IMHO.

For my V1, I used a fusetap and jumpered off of the window control for the passenger side door, and then ran the cable up the a pillar and across. Works just fine.

Forgot the fuse # at the moment, but will look and post if interested.

BTW, car is a 2015 A3 Prem+ so even though the homelink thing looked cool... we aint got that :-)
