HomeLink with Sommer Garage Door Opener in S3

Just got my S3, with port-installed HomeLink. Having challenges programming it with my Somber gage door opener. Had similar problems programming it with last Audi (A7), but all the procedudes that I have tried have not worked. Anyone have similar problems?

Don't have Somber, but Genie opener. Had problems one time with another vehicle that the opener will not hold more than 5 codes. Needed to reset and reprogram the opener with the current vehicles / operators. FWIW.
