Default How to know if you are getting a good deal for a lease

Hi!

How do you know if you are getting a good deal on an A3 lease? Just got a 2015 A3 premium for:

42 months
10K/year

MSRP $40,000
Actual sale price $35,000
Trade in car with current lease with me ending up have some negative equity of around $1,200

Paying $430 per month including tax and Audi Care.

Good deal?

Residual value is just over $20,000.

I got my s3 for 510 a month 36/15k. 3k down. Not sure if your lease terms are good but that should give you some perspective. Go to edmunds and they will have a section on a3 leases and tell you how to back Into the number. If you haven't taken delivery yet get a quote from another dealer and see what they come at you with.

No different from determining if you are getting a good price and loan terms if buying. Best to google leasing a car to understand lease elements, i.e. cap cost, money factor (interest rate), cap reduction, mileage terms, lease term and residual. First you negotiate the price of the car, then determine lease terms. What you don't want to do is only compare lease (or loan) payments as there are too many other variables that determine the payment amount. Dealers have ways to change the variables so that one lease payment looks better than another even if it's not. Research is necessary to ensure you are on at least an equal footing with the dealer.

Wow what options do you have on your S3? That sounds like a killer deal. I'm going to lease an S3 pretty soon. Most dealers aren't giving much in the way of discounts since the S3 is so popular. The best I can get is the ACNA 6% + 750 loyalty discount.

Nav, convenience, b&0 and they threw in Audi care. It was the last s3 on the lot and they later told me (after all papers signed) that they would get a bonus from Audi corporate for selling out of the s3 stock completely.
