Default How to remove rear license plate holder

I'm trying to figure out how to remove rear license plate holder after removing the two (2) torx screws.

I did my research and couldn't find anything on this. Thanks in advance.

Typically held in place with the two TORX screws and then three horizontal pieces of double-sided sticky tape to keep vibration at bay.

This seems right to me. One of the 4 captive nuts for the license plate screws was spinning so I was going to take the holder off and figure out a way to reattach it. I took the 2 screws for the holder out but couldn't get the cover off. If I pulled it seemed somewhat elastic, so my guess is that there is double-sided tape behind it. I added a couple of drops of gel superglue to the fastener and called it a day.

Thanks guys. That does make sense, but I just hate the idea of sticky tape
being used on my S3.

May I ask why are you trying to remove the license plate holder?

Brad,
If it makes you feel better, 3M's "VHB" double-sided tape is used to permanently mount and seal the huge plate glass windows in skyscrapers.
Sticky tape ain't all the cheap stuff you buy in the dime store. It probably holds on every "badge" on your car as well.

One of the metal pieces broke while tightening the license plate screw. Totally my fault for the breakage.
