That makes more sense -- that's pretty nuts that they had to be 1:1 on allocation. Especially given that the S is a performance model. Thanks for the insight.

They didn't have to be, but not staying close to what is recommended can result in production delays which dealers obviously want to avoid.

I could have gotten a much bigger discount off MSRP on 2016, but I decided to order a
2017 (still for a decent % off MSRP). Newer model year, latest improvements, but mostly ordered it the exact color and options I wanted, nothing less and nothing more......
Furthermore, the assurance that the car hadn't was still "virgin" and not been
test driven/joy ridden by anyone.....
Good luck with whatever you guys decided.....

Anyone else use Truecar as a base for negotiations? It looks like 11% has been achieved by some people. Would you guys start at this number when starting negotiations? Is the dealer making anything on a number that low?

They will make nothing on a car at 11%. It will be done only to meet a monthly/quarterly incentive target. There may also be some other back door money from Audi or it could be a car that was floor planned and had been sitting for a while. there is only 8% MAX in an AUDI.

No secrecy, I didn't want for people to settle for what I agreed for which was 8% off the order.
Unfortunately I had to cancel it since my wife decided she wanted the 2017 Allroad.
Good luck!
