As markN1689 stated, I simply move my wiper arms by hand. When I'm washing the car, just pull 1 arm up across the windshield to clean beneath. There is zero resistance. Once higher on the windshield, you can, of course, tilt the arms forward to clean the windshield without obstruction. I've been doing this since I got my S3 in late 2014. Set the wiper back on the windshield and push the arms back into the stowed position. They function fine in the rain when necessary. No misalignment or out of sync. Very handy actually.

Fred, that's incorrect for the newer cars.

+1. It is somewhat of a clever feature.

With the car off, you can manually slide them up the windshield... no issue... that's how I clean them when I wash the car.

Thanks for correcting me, I had the idea that the 8V was the same as the 8P. I just collected my 8V on Friday, so good to know
