I see how to download new versions of the maps, but I don't see what version that I can download, actually is.

The current version that came with my A3 is V03959800SE 0024 NAR2014.

Does anyone know if there's a later version?

You can get the 2015 maps from my.audi.com

When you download make sure you do not use the defaults documents directory because when it downloads it downloads several directories and files that all need to be on the SD or CD in order to do the update. I just added the word "audi" to the end of the default path on the downloader.

I know how to download the files. What I don't know is, what is the latest version number, and where can one find that out?

You can download 2015 maps from the my.audi.com website. I have the files but I can not find a version number in the files. I am sure it is there but it is not obvious. You found the place in the car. You can update just sections so you could have different versions of the maps for different sections of the country or the world.

The latest version is "...2015/2016". That is what your system will show as map software on MMI Setup.
