I tried a launch couple days ago but I noticed a little hesitation.
Checked the manual which says to launch under engine operating temperature.
If I take this to mean 220 degrees F , it takes a long time for the engine to reach that temp; I guess more than 20 minutes from cold. I find this limiting; is Audi being too conservative here?.
By the way I heard from an Audi guy that there is a launch control counter and the limit is 250 launches.

I take that to mean that the water and oil would have reached normal operating temperatures.

For me, those temperature would be reached under gentle driving with 5 - 6 km or about 4 miles. water 90C and Oil above 75C

But, how do you know when you've reached operating temp when there are no oil or water temp gauges?
