After waiting well over a month (still don't understand why it took that long to weld/bend pipes), the AWE 2.0T Quattro exhaust came in. This is the touring version, not the louder track version. Need to find some time to install this in the next few weeks or months - been super busy with work. Hoping this really makes a world of difference with actually hearing the motor more, but not being obnoxious.

Tomorrow another delivery is coming too, Audi Drive Select Retrofit! Hopefully there will be some type of instructions on how to install it!

mroberte, quick question for you. On my A3 I tried to code the brake disc drying deal with VCDS. I (think) I tried all the security codes, but every one didn't seem to work for that setting. Do you happen to remember what code you used?

Thanks!

Edit: And do you happen to remember what your factory setting was? A couple places show it as being light, but mine is set to medium.

Bought some high temp black matte paint to paint the components of the exhaust as I don't want to draw much attention (its a mirror finish on the actual muffler) when installed. Sleeper-mode...

More quick exhaust pics...

Got the Audi Drive Select "parts". So its literally two wires, some zip ties and instructions on how to enable. However there is an activation code that is specific to my VIN that the dealership has to enable via their system which "phones home".

Cars at the dealership in SF and man that place is a ripoff. Its $200 just to look at the car. Was arguing that it should take no more than 20 minutes to turn on the VAS, input the code and be done with it. Service manager said, it will take longer, I rolled my eyes.

Service manager also stated they have never done this before and they will have to keep the car overnight - uhm. And what dealership doesn't have loaners! I know this is SF, but this is Audi, not Kia! Should of taken to the Oakland or Concord dealership. Next time (for my 25K service).

One thing I am worried about, the JB1 is still on the car, however disabled (map0) hopefully this doesn't raise any red flags.

Its pretty astonishing the VAG really didn't inform dealerships of this new platform and provide proper training to Service mangers and techs. Palo Alto was just as clueless of how to fix the car as well. I guess "early adopters" will always get the shaft.

I'm excited to have the "efficiency" mode through the ADS enabled as I specifically asked to make sure this option is turned on. Instructions say all engines except the 1.2L has this function through ADS.

Hoping they do not wipe all the VCD settings I did.

No loaner? Ouch.

So in the end, including the cost to activate it, how much to add Audi Drive Select? And that's with you installing the button panel yourself, right?

Roughly $450 including the labor. Wish I knew an Audi tech because $200 for labor for an, at-max, 20 min job is just robbery.
