New S3 owner, with some questions
I have just got my 2016 S3 in Balck, with Technology, handling, black optic, and LED packages. I love it so far and Imgoing to enjoy it more as thw break-in period ends lol. I have few questions regarding my car:
1) Do the squares on the rear door handles lock the cars? Cuz for mine only the front handles lock the car!
2) I've just filled the first tank with Chevron 94. My dealer uses Shell 91 V-Power. Which one is better for the S3? Do you guys use any other gas stations? Manual says min 91 octane but it also says I can use higher octane gas too.
3) My front wheels are already dirty with brake dust. Should I just keep cleaning them every week or it's worth it to get my wheels + calibres coated with opti pro which the shop says lasts 3-4 years and they get super easy to clean for $400?
Thanks in advance

Welcome Vancity88 and congrats on your new ride!! You'll love it! I have a 2015 in black. Sort of a bitch to keep clean but once you go black.......
Squares on the handles are the capacitive sensors for your remote key. Correct. Just brush your finger along it to lock. Can touch the inside of the handle to unlock although if the car is wet or really dirty, it might act intermittently. At least mine does. Don't believe the sensors on my back door handles function either. Will have to recheck.
I run 93 octane here in Ohio. It's readily available at pretty much every station. Should be fine with 91 but there may be a slight power difference. Engine computer will do the math for you. Would not recommend going lower unless you're almost out of gas and have no choice.
Brake dust is a major issue. Some of us have solved this by replacing the OEM pads with ceramic pads. I replaced my pads when ceramics became available on Tire Rack. Love them. Work great and the brake dust is all but totally gone. Stopping power perhaps a tad less but not noticeable for my driving and I push it when the road is clear and conditions allow.
Again, congrats on the new car. You'll find a wealth of great information on this website. Lots of very helpful people here to help you enjoy your car even more!

Top Tier fuel is more important than octane for the long run and both Chevron and Shell are top tier.
Armorall makes a wheel spray that helps with the brake dust. It helps a little.
