Default Put in S3 order...dealer says 4 months?

Just put in an S3 order in Bay Area...dealer says 4 months. A solid 4 months according to them.
I see people here are getting cars in 2.5-3 months.

Is my dealer short on allocation at the moment? Perhaps I should go to another dealer with a slot further up on the allocation list?
I'm it exactly sure how it works, or what specific lingo I should ask him about their allocation.

Any insight would be great...

Default that's complete nonsense...what color/specs do you want?

Audi Central Houston has FIFTEEN S3s in stock, with more on the way. If you call, ask for Yuri, he's the top Audi salesman in the US....he will hook you up. I've bought 2 Audis from him.

Talk Daniel at Audi Concord. They should have a few S3, loaded. They are cool guys and will help you out. I bought mine from them

Finding a full loaded S3 in the bay area isn't an issue.
I'm trying to find a car with only Convenience and B&O, thus I need to order.
This dealer is giving me the best price on an order(a little under invoice).
Other dealers in the area will go under invoice, but only for a car on the lot.

Yeah, the S3 just aren't ordered by the dealers without certain features, NAV being one. The chances that anyone has an S3 with those packages is pretty slim.

4 months is about normal if you order a car, they are literally going to build one for you and then ship it.

Like you said depends on allocation. 3 months is my waiting time. Should be here next week.

I was told that dealer can go into the ordering system and change/capture a vehicle from another dealer that was ordered for dealer stock. This could get you a car much sooner.

Your deal sounds really good and if your leasing than no big deal but if your buying then you will receive your 2015 S3 when 2016 S3's are available.

Mine will be almost three months to the day from ordering to pickup this Thursday. That time period spanned the xmas shutdown of the factories in Europe. I think your dealer is playing it safe, but you are going to wait at least three months, if not more if you go the order route. I am in the NY Metro area about 60 miles from NYC.

mine took 2 months on the dot. ordered oct 26th. picked up Dec 26th. When I ordered the dealer actually told me a sooner date so mine was late. They said they could make that date though becuse they had an order about to be built that i could change so i did. I think it could be the dealer just isnt in line any time soon. couldnt hurt calling around a few dealers

I ordered early November, modified an existing dealer slot from October, and expecting delivery late March. It's roughly two months from Germany to the west coast for shipping according to the dealer.

good luck!

I live in the bay area and ordered my S3. I was told 3.5-4 months by the four dealers I talked to. Ordered in mid-October and took delivery almost exactly 3 months later.

My dealer had allocation available, and flipped an existing car from the factory order bank to my configuration, which might have accelerated things by a few weeks. But I could definitely see it being a 4 month process.
