Anyone try the Michelin Pilot Super Sports on their A3/S3? Would love to hear about it.

really grippy in the corner, but its a tad bit noisy on freeways. Million times better than the OE Procontact TX on my a3 1.8t

What size on OE's? What size on the Michelins? (If you don't mind providing.)

I have them on my S3. OEM 19" tire sizes. Amazing tires. Very grippy and much more responsive than the Conti 5P's. Noticeably better in the rain and dry and they are actually quieter than Conti's as well. They are visibly taller and wider than the OEM Conti's, which might cause some rubbing if you're lowered and rocking spacers (i'm stock). Overall, they greatly improved the S3's handling and responsiveness so IMO they are definitely worth the price.

I run 235/40R18 on the stock rims, suspension stock. Amazing grip compared to the Conti 5Ps which did not survive one day at the track. The PSS did and I have enough thread for more track days. However beware of cold temps (below 5°C)... they don't like that and start to slide noticeably sooner...

Your tire info sounds great. I am taking a different route. Later this week will be mounting new Conti DWS-06 on my A3 1.8T. Have had previous cars with the older DWS. Great all around tires--new DWS-06 are rated an improvement. No tracking-just normal usage.

I just bought a set of PSS today. Didn't really test them out but they are a bit noisy on the freeway. I can definitely tell that they are not as soft as the stock Conti's.

UPDATE The Conti DWS-06 are on & they are a drastic upgrade from the ProContac's (40% worn). Exactly what I was looking for--quiet on the freeway, great ride & increased grip. Took a 25 mi. shakedown ride--a little freeway & mostly 2 lane back roads. Looking forward to more places to go!
