FWIW, I just bought my 2nd pair of PSS. My first pair latest about 10,000 miles and *10* track days [Pocono(2), The Glenn(4), Palmer(2), NJMP(2)]. I probably could have gotten another track day out of them, but between $125 tire swap and safety (my son tracks the car with me and I wouldnt risk his safety for a few dollars), I decided for the new set.
Never got the car to even squeak until the very end.

Sounds like mixed noise reviews, nothing worse than road-noise-regret after dropping a grand on tires.

I'd be getting 19s, so sounds like (pun intended) I'll be looking at even more noise. Thanks for the input y'alls... got some processing to do.

I had Michelin PSS on my previous A6 C7. They were awesome for the first 50% of the tire thread (meaning when the tires were fresh). They are actually quiet for what they are, summer performance tires. They got really noisy however with time.

Default not bad

My S3 came with Conti contact5, I have michelin PSS on my 997 C4S. I love them. They are not noisy at all. Only cons, are that the side wall of the tires are really soft. I would put a bit extra air in the tires to make up for it. Tread wear is not so good too.

I also have the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires on my A3. Because of my wheels they are 235/35R19 size. I have owned my car since late October last year and traction and handling has been great in any weather I have encountered so far. They are also radically more quiet than the Pirelli tires I had on my last car. My last car was a HT convertible and it was significantly noisier than my A3 largely due to tire noise.
