Default Something wrong with 2015 A3's?

Hi,

Just curious, I've been looking at used A3's and don't see hardly any 2014,13 or 12 but I see dozen's of very low mile 2015 for resale (3K to 10K miles). almost as if people are buying them, and immediately trading them back in for something else. begs the question, what's wrong with them?

The previous generation A3 8P was from 03-12 and the A3 8V did not return to the NA market till 2014-2015. Cant say why the decided to get rif of their A3's could be they upgraded to an S3 or better or had a 1.8T A3 and switched to 2.0T

My dealer told me (when I bought my 2015 A3 Premium Plus with 4k miles) that they purchase many of their preowned A3s from Audi corporate. It was in pristine condition and had the rear windows tinted, so it definitely wasn't a loaner vehicle.

My thought is that Audi America is trying to purposefully increase the pool of preowned A3s out there, perhaps to attract new owners that otherwise would have gone with a different brand. The price point and feature list was exactly what I was looking for, and I've been extremely happy with my car. So if that was in fact their strategy, it worked on me.

I really don't think anything is wrong with them.

I just bought a pre-owned 2015, and from what I found in my search was a large inventory of Pre-Owned corporate cars, Audi demos and daily loaners. Like many premium brands, their lowest cost model ends up in the loaner fleet. Next with a new model introduction there were many test cars, corporate cars etc.. These will even out once the flood of used cars are sold. It will impact values in the short term, as example, the one I bought was 70% of its MSRP, ( or 12k off) and had just 7k miles. If you search you will find very few with things like sports packages, prestige pack, and some of the higher end features. You will not find pricing in pre-owned S3 market to mimic that of the 2015 A3, as the same conditions, higher MSRP and limited numbers prevent such.

Back in 06 I bought a pre-owned A3 wagon, and similar conditions existed and was able to save 22% with similar miles.

I would say buying one now pre-owned there will be very little depreciation over the next 3 years, as most of it was eaten up with the first sale.

So to answer your question- no its a great car, selling very well for Audi and will continue to do so for its model life.

Honestly the asking was so low, I took as advertised...When I looked online the car should have been 31 and I got for 28... I could not get my money out fast enough. And for me it was White, PP, Tech Nav, Sport pack, with Brown int, and the windows were tinted, .... Exactly what I wanted. (I was not sure about the Brown int, but 2k miles later absolutely love it)_

So hard to say how much money they have left in the deal... I would say throw them an offer start a couple K off asking. Take into account miles and packages on the car. Take a look at True market value on the web and go from there.

My car's asking price was about $10-11k below MSRP new. I got them to knock off another grand, and also had them certify (read: 2 extra years of warranty) the car, which they claim costs $2k. This was for a 6 month old, 4k mile car with pretty much everything but LED headlights and adaptive cruise control.

I agree with buying one used. I got one of those corporate vehicles as well last summer. It is a 2015 A3 Premium Plus quattro with 8k miles for 29,900.

Those are all pretty much low mileage.

My 2015 P+ A3 2.0T, I took delivery back on Nov '14 has 15,860 miles on it today.
