Speedo Calibration
My speedometer is off by a small percentage which works out to 2-4 mph depending on the speed. Running stock wheels and tires.
I first noticed this because people were blowing by me on the highway and I knew everyone else didn't suddenly start driving faster. Checked it with a gps app and the digital speedo on the dash and it is definitely off.
It's rather annoying and haven't had this before in my other VAG vehicles.
Is it possible to have this calibrated?

I noticed this shortly after getting the car about 8 months ago. At 70 mph it's usually 3-4 mph off. I confirmed this both with my radar and phone gps app. Also while driving on the highway and using the speedometer checks alongside the road, I noticed after about 5 miles that our odometer is not very accurate either.. which I think means we are driving less distance per actual mile? I brought it up to the dealer and he said this was normal, or he just didn't want to figure out why this happens?

Nearly every European car I have owned has had a speedo that reported a speed slightly higher than actual speed. It is strongly rumored that car manufacturers purposely calibrate this way so as to not have liability for speeding tickets if a car reported a speed lower than it was actually traveling.
Also, there are EU regulations regarding speedometer calibration:
"The speed indicated must never be less than the true speed. At the speeds specified for the test in 4.3.5 above and between these speeds, there shall be the following relationship between the speed indicated on the dial of the speedometer (V1) and the true speed (V2): http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/...005%3aEN%3aPDF

I did some comparisons between the odometer and the mileage reads low. It indicated around 59.5 miles for 60 miles, or 119 miles for every 120 traveled.
Using the lap timer, an indicated 80mph works out to 77.92 actual mph.

I am also plagued by this - speedo reads too high - 3 to 4 MPH high! My A4 and A8 were dead-nuts on. My Kia soul actually reads .5 MPH low. Anyway, this drives me nuts and I was able to adjust my 2010 Triumph Thunderbird via its version of Ross-Tech software. Seems like there should be a similar adjustment for Audi.
