Stitching issue on Red inserts on sport seats
I have a 3 month old custom ordered S3, 14 week production time. I am an interior designer and attention to detail is everything to me. This is one of the reasons that I chose Audi.
I noticed some white specs on my red inserts in the folds of my sport seats. Upon close inspection, I noticed that white thread was used in the stitching of the red leather in the detail areas. This is quite visible and detracts as it's high contrast. What didn't Audi use red stitching as it's already being used as the stitching color on the rest of the leather as an accent.
I looked at other S3 and A3 models with grey/black interior and all black interior. It seems that the all black must use black stitching as it's not visible. The grey leather is looks to be using the white stitching but as it's low contrast, it's very hard to see.
I looked at other models, A4, A5/S5, S6 and others. No other models are stitched in this manner. Also, all others high very tight stitching where there is a bit of give in the S3's stitching which reveals the contrast for that reason, also.
I'm so upset. I love my car but this is definitely not what I expected from my 50K+ Audi. I expect them to sweat the details on all of their cars or why bother. They set high expectations. I feel let down. I have acceptable and not exceptional.
I contacted Audi and from the weak response and not confident that they will rectify the issue. As a designer, I have my ideas of how this might be possible. To leave me with this inferior interior will lose me as a repeat customer. It's unacceptable.
Anyone else notice this?

I know...I'm so upset. I really hope that audi and my dealer come up with a satisfactory solution. I know I've said this several times but this is unacceptable from Audi. I love my car otherwise.
