I'm going to trade in my Jetta and am pretty much decided on an A3/S3 (small chance to go for a Golf R). That said, is there any hope for me to even try to pre-order an Audi to lock that in, or will dealers just be completely hands off on handling trade ins. Just curious; I'm assuming the answer is just to wait but I've got a hole burning in my pocket now that I know I'm going to change autos Thanks for any tips

You will know more on July 26 whether the court has approved the settlement. The executive summary says if you sell your car (trade-in is a sale) after June 28, 2016, you get nothing.

Once you know the process better, there may be a known date that you can trade-in under the settlement program. Until that happens I would wait.

It takes about 3 months for a custom Audi order, or just take one off the lots.

Ahh thanks; didn't realize the next legal part was just next week. Guess I gotta wait till Oct for this mess to really clear up
