From my understanding, no one has been able to do this yet for the A3 or S3.

There seems to be some (expensive) hardware solutions, but I have not tested them.

That would be a good trick to tie to the car's hardware... it would have to read hardware ID and record it, unless they ask for something unique when you order (?)

This is simply a BS, pure software solution exists since 4 -5 months. You have to use a VCP as I mentioned before.
